OCTOBER HALF TERM RESIDENTIAL 2011During the half term holiday, Warwickshire Clubs for Young People took a group of 10 young people from its affiliated clubs on a week-long residential adventure to the Outward Bound Centre at Aberdovey in Wales. The group comprised young people from the Bradby Club in Rugby, Lillington Youth Centre in Leamington Spa, Dosthill Boys Club, Tamworth and Colebridge Boys Club in Solihull. During the week they took part in many team building exercises and group activities including climbing and abseiling, a jetty jump and a two-day overnight kayaking and walking expedition. They also completed an ASDAN award in Personal and Social Development where they learned about the environment, healthy eating, diet and exercise and how to develop themselves.
All the young people involved in the residential had a fantastic experience with the weather staying on our side for the majority of the week. All the young people who completed the week developed in confidence, learnt new skills, made new friends and most importantly had fun.
