We are a charity that strives to support and enrich the lives of young people, in partnership with youth clubs and groups across Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull. Our mission is to create opportunities for young people to participate in sport and leisure activities. Exercise certainly brings fitness and new friends, but there are other benefits too, such as increased confidence and good social skills. Thousands of young people take part in our sports and leisure activities each and every year and this being our 60th Anniversary, we are confident that it works! Whether you are a young person, a youth leader, worker, a sponsor or a valued supporter, we do hope you enjoy your visit to our website and come back soon. |
BRADBY CLUB OF THE YEAROn Wednesday 9th July 2008 WCYP held its 3rd Annual AGM which was hosted by the Bradby Club in Rugby. The evening was very well attended by leaders, helpers and young people from a cross sections of our affiliated clubs. The event was used to celebrate the quality work of the charity and the achievements gained by young people though out the year. Certificates were presented to young people who had achieved their Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership, those who attended WCYP's Senior Member Training and everybody who took part in the 100 Mile Canoe Test. We also had a new award to present this year which was the Mary Holbrook “Rose Bowl” Award. This went to Leon Higgs of the Coventry YMCA. Finally the Ken Hitchman Club of the Year Award was presented to the Bradby Club. The photo above shows three members of the Bradby Club being awarded the trophy by Mr Ken Hitchman himself. 10/07/2008
