We are a charity that strives to support and enrich the lives of young people, in partnership with youth clubs and groups across Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull.  Our mission is to create opportunities for young people to participate in sport and leisure activities.

Exercise certainly brings fitness and new friends, but there are other benefits too, such as increased confidence and good social skills. Thousands of young people take part in our sports and leisure activities each and every year and this being our 60th Anniversary, we are confident that it works! Whether you are a young person, a youth leader, worker, a sponsor or a valued supporter, we do hope you enjoy your visit to our website and come back soon.

WCYP 5-A-SIDE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Saturday 10th December 2011 Warwickshire Club for Young People held it's Annual 5-A-Side Football Championships at the Sports Connexion in Ryton-on-Dunsmore. We had a good number of entries this year with teams entered from five WCYP affiliated clubs. They were Coventry Boys' Club, Dosthill Boys' Club in Tamworth, Lillington Youth Centre, Willenhall ABC and the Bradby Club in Rugby. We had players from as young as 10 to as old as 19 take part in the day with 63 Young People in total enjoying the football.

There was a very high standard of play on display during the day and everybody who took part said it was a very enjoyable event. We are already looking forward to next year's event and plan to make it even bigger and better that ever. Results are as follows;

Under 12's

Winner                                  Lillington Youth Club – B Team

Runner up                            Willenhall ABC

Under 16's

Winner                                  Bradby Club – A Team

Runner up                            Lillington Youth Club – A Team

Under 19's

Winner                                   Bradby Club

Runner up                            Coventry Boys Club

This is by far our biggest and best tournament of the year, the numbers involved with the day say it all. We entertained 5 clubs and 63 young people in total with teams aged from under 12s right up to under 19s. I am pleased with how the day went and I am looking forward to doing it all again next year.
